About Us

We are Dave and Kyle Mealand, a father-son duo based on the west coast of Scotland. From our workshop on the Morvern peninsula we look down onto the Sound of Mull, a stretch of water that we have swam, sailed and worked for a combined 27 years. Community and connection to the land and sea has always been important to us and after an inspiring trip to Norway and seeing how saunas act as a social gathering place, a wellness remedy and a way to sit back and connect with nature we realised we wanted to bring this experience back home.

With no set standards for sauna building in the UK we decided to craft saunas to the authentic Finnish standards and site the first one on a trailer to make it accessible and portable. From this, Sound Saunas was born, taking inspiration from the rugged beauty around us and blending into its surrounding environment. We are now expanding our sauna service, to create bespoke saunas for individuals, communities and business. We will walk you through each step of the process from design to delivery, creating a sauna tailored to your needs whether that be a 2 berth personal sauna or an 8+ person sauna business with a cash flow plan.
